Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) Edit

The Transmission Control Protocol is one of the main protocols of the Internet protocol suite. It compliments the Internet Protocol (IP). TCP provides reliable, ordered and error-checked delivery of a stream octets between running applications on hosts communicating by an IP network. It is a common used protocol as major applications such as the World Wide Web, email and file transfer rely on TCP.
